INCOM is Hiring a CNC Programmer Near Charlton, MA

CNC Programmer 
We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator/Programmer to join our team on 1st Shift (Monday-Friday: 7am-3:30pm).
In this role, you will perform diversified manual and mechanical duties to program, set up, and operate CNC machines to produce high-quality precision parts. This includes reading and interpreting routing sheets and blueprints, programming, setup, and operation of machinery, as well as performing complex cutting, assembly, grinding, and/or polishing jobs. Ensure CNC production runs smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities
CNC Operation
:

  • Set up CNC cutting and grinding machines as assigned.
  • Read and interpret routing sheets, technical drawings, and blueprints to determine required operations and specifications.
  • Load products onto machines, adjust speeds, feeds, depths, pressure, and runtime as appropriate.
  • Perform complex setups on CNC machinery and operate machines to perform required operations.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure proper processing, make periodic inspections, and ensure items meet specifications.
  • Adjust machines as required and notify supervisors of out-of-specification situations.
  • Monitor tool wear, change, and dress wheels as necessary.
  • Maintain specified tolerances, using precision measuring devices for periodic in-process inspections.
  • Ensure process discipline and compliance with job packets, utilizing the ERP system and completing documentation requirements.
  • Train and develop CNC operators in industry and best practices.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing projects and events.

CNC Programming:

  • Collaborate closely with the Shop Floor, Engineering, Production Management, and other team members to determine programming needs based on part design.
  • Read and interpret sketches, technical drawings, design models, manuals, and specifications.
  • Develop, program, and test CNC code, adjusting machine settings until desired specifications are met.
  • Write new CNC programs, setup instructions, estimate, and make changes to existing programs.
  • Complete quality control inspections during manufacturing and on the final product.
  • Create, document, and maintain part programs for all types of numerical control applications, ensuring design intent and component quality.
  • Report and correct production problems caused by incorrect manufacturing processes, tooling, or programming methods.

Support:

  • Work with engineering to conduct tests, assist in new product development, process documentation, and troubleshoot process problems.
  • Follow all established safety rules and regulations, utilize required safety equipment, and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Perform other similar duties as required or requested by supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of experience required as a CNC Programmer/Operator, including programming, setting up, operating, editing, and troubleshooting CNC machinery. Experience with Haas Milling machines is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MasterCam, SolidWorks, G-Code, and MS-Office.
  • Basic mechanical design skills using CAD preferred.
  • Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, technical blueprints, and design models.
  • Experience with cutting, forming, and polishing glass fiber optic plates, milling machines, grinders, and other finishing machines, working with close tolerances.
  • Strong visual acuity for prints/plans, product details, and machine details.
  • Physical ability to lift various weights and move in a factory environment.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Core competencies include strong organizational skills, effective time management, technical knowledge, teamwork, results orientation, problem-solving, and effective communication skills.
  • Proficiency using precision measuring devices for extremely high tolerances (.0001).
